All work and no play makes James a dull boy.
Slanted 36 — Coesxist

An ongoing collection of illustrations, formed directly from the printed textual adverts, in the section of The Guardian that goes by the same name.
I was 1 of 25 invited by the lovely people at Slanted to make a '25 illustration' for their special 25th Slanted output, which celebrates 10 years of existence. The publication is a limited edition risograph printed booklet in 14 colours.

PRESENT! Exhibition (London Design Festival 2015)

A mash-up of the typeface Akzidenz-Grotesk (Berthold Type Foundry). I made this by running letterforms through a scanner, moving, jolting and twisting the paper to create the desired effect.
An illustration of me not sleeping, created while I couldn’t sleep.

Sign of the Times
NB Studio, Spring Chicken and Michael Wolff invited designers from all over the world to submit a design to replace the ‘Elderly People’ road sign, as they felt it was ageist and outdated. An exhibition of the designs took place at the Protein Gallery, London on the 11th – 13th of September, 2015.
An experiment with shape and pattern.
Precedent – 10 Guiding Principles
I made a series of illustrations for precedent, which highlighted their '10 guiding principles'.
Little White Lies & Ralph Steadman / Breaking Bad Exhibition
To celebrate the release of the Breaking Bad Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbooks, featuring exclusive artwork by legendary British cartoonist Ralph Steadman, Little White Lies released a creative brief to design a piece of artwork based on a memorable scene from Breaking Bad.
The brief was created to coincide with a special exhibition of exclusive hand-crafted character illustrations by Ralph Steadman, at the 71a gallery in East London. Ralph would then choose 15 of the entries to sit alongside his artwork in the exhibition.
I was extremely honoured to be one of the fifteen selected for the exhibition. My artwork is based on the scene where Gustavo Fring is unfortunate enough to have half of his face blown off. I had a great time at the exhibition and even got to meet the man himself.
